East Haven posted their closest win since September 3, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lyman Hall Trojans 3-2. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-91) East Haven actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 5-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Kelsey Hinckley paced East Haven's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hinckley got some help from Eve Backhaus and her 18 assists. Backhaus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Despite the loss, Lyman Hall still got an impressive performance from Talia Gallucci, who had 15 digs.

East Haven is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Lyman Hall, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
