Recap: Northwood Chargers vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets
The Northwood Chargers stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They really took it to Jordan-Matthews for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-18 win at home. Northwood's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Northwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikaylah Glover out in front who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Natalia Whitaker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Loss or not, Jordan-Matthews got some senior leadership from Reagan Smith and Lia Carter. Smith scored five points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks, while Carter. scored ten points along with two steals. Smith is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Jordan-Matthews struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Northwood racked up 14 assists.
Northwood pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39 points. As for Jordan-Matthews, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Northwood will challenge Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bartlett Yancey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
