Riverside fell victim to St. Edward and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Beavers' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Riverside got a good showing from Josh Rauer, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rauer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Riverside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Michalski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for St. Edward, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Riverside will challenge Jackson at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Polar Bears will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Edward, they will take on Mentor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
