Baseball Game Preview: Taunton Tigers vs. Milford Scarlet Hawks

Taunton has gone a perfect 10-0 against Milford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will welcome the Scarlet Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Taunton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Taunton took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Mansfield 11-1. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

Aiden Resendes looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Cam Dorr was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cameron Tomaszycki was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Taunton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield only posted an OBP of .176.

Meanwhile, Milford had just enough and edged out Oliver Ames 3-1 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Derek Marcolini, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Taunton's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Taunton beat Milford 5-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scarlet Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
