Basketball Game Preview: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. Lebanon Tigers

The McCutcheon Mavericks will take on the Lebanon Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. McCutcheon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Lebanon likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McCutcheon beat Fort Wayne Snider 62-58. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

McCutcheon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keara Lipscomb-Allen out in front who shot 40% from the field to rack up 20 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave Lipscomb-Allen a new career-high. Lillie Graves was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.

McCutcheon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lebanon beat Sheridan 43-30 on Tuesday.

McCutcheon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lebanon, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything came up roses for McCutcheon against Lebanon in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-21 win. Will the Mavericks repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
