Basketball Recap: Kaleb Ballard Key Part of Team Effort in Indians Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pelham, Wetumpka was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They snuck past the Prattville Lions with a 57-53 victory. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Lions last Tuesday, they had to take a 68-63 loss.

Wetumpka got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb Ballard out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 20 rebounds. The matchup was Ballard's third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Chris Robinson, who almost dropped a triple-double with ten points, nine boards, and nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Prattville lost, don't look at Deshawn Hall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Hall is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Jersey Farbes was another key player, shooting 43% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Wetumpka now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Prattville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Wetumpka didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-50 victory against Montgomery Catholic on the 25th. As for Prattville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-45 win against Stanhope Elmore on the 25th.
