Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Northside Patriots
The Hardaway Hawks can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 70-46 margin over Northside. The victory was familiar territory for Hardaway who now have 15 in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hardaway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mikayla Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Akilah Shelton, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Northside's loss came despite strong showings from Morgan Thomas and Zariah Davis. Thomas scored 17 points, while Davis scored 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Northside's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hardaway's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Northside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hardaway will take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shaw will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Hawks are ranked 44th). As for Northside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northgate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
