Basketball Game Preview: Hartford Jaguars vs. Northern Heights Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hartford Jaguars challenge the Northern Heights Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday... Northern Heights took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hartford, who comes in off a win.

Hartford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over Madison. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 48th).

Meanwhile, Northern Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 50-14 defeat at the hands of Olpe.

Hartford's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.1 points. As for Northern Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8-1.

Everything went Hartford's way against Northern Heights in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Hartford made off with a 50-24 victory. Does Hartford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northern Heights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
