Basketball Recap: Evergreen Skates Past Littleton with Ease

It was a proper cat-fight when Evergreen duked it out with Littleton on Thursday. The Evergreen Cougars breezed past the Littleton Lions to the tune of 58-31. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Lukas Mccanna, who went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points and eight boards. What's more, he also posted four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Rob Beldock was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Littleton lost, don't look at Peyton Brooks. Despite the final result, he earned five points and five boards.

The win made it two in a row for Evergreen and bumps their season record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Littleton, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Evergreen will challenge Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mesa Ridge will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Evergreen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Littleton, they have already played their next game, a 51-32 win against Pueblo Centennial on the 15th.
