Softball Recap: Strathmore Takes a Loss

Porterville hit Strathmore with a eight-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans came up short against the Panthers, falling 13-3. The Spartans have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mollie Gillis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Strathmore's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Porterville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-13.

Coming up, Strathmore will take on Corcoran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Porterville, they will face off against Mt. Whitney at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
