Baseball Recap: Oswego East Takes a Loss

Oswego East and Minooka pushed the score to 16-4 the last time they played Minooka, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolves fell just short of the Indians by a score of 1-0. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ernest Williams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Oswego East: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise.

Oswego East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Minooka, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

While Oswego East had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
