Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Chester Cyclones

The Fairfield Central Griffins just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Chester Cyclones at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fairfield Central has nine straight wins, Chester has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Fairfield Central barely beat Mid-Carolina the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Fairfield Central put the hurt on Mid-Carolina with a sharp 62-42 victory on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Griffins have posted since December 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Chester came up short against Columbia on Friday and fell 49-40.

Fairfield Central pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
