Softball Recap: Newark Wildcats vs. Lancaster Golden Gales
Newark extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-17. They lost 19-0 to the Lancaster Golden Gales. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Gales this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 on April 15th.
As for Lancaster, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The result was nothing new for the Golden Gales, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Lancaster's part, Kileigh Rohr 2026 made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Rohr 2026 a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Kendall Brown 2026 MU was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run and five RBI. Hailey Rings 2026 was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
