Tri-Cities' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Lakeside on Friday. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Vikings.
Even if they lost, Tri-Cities' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Javian Pickney refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Tri-Cities got some further help from Pickney: he picked up two sacks and made five total tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodward Academy). They breezed past Arabia Mountain to the tune of 67-14 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the War Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
Tri-Cities better keep an eye on Ryan Harrigan. He was instrumental in Woodward Academy's win, throwing for 145 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, while also rushing for 60 yards and one TD on only five carries. Those 60 rushing yards gave Harrigan a new career-high. Zaydn Young also helped with two scores in total.
Woodward Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Woodward Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Young was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win (which was Woodward Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Tri-Cities, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Tri-Cities was dealt a bruising 38-0 defeat at the hands of Woodward Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Landon Walker (who threw for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
