Softball Recap: Hill Takes a Loss

Independence hit Hill with a six-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons lost 14-3 to the 76ers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the 76ers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Hill and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Independence, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill will take on James Lick at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Independence, they will square off against Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The 76ers are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
