Softball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Comes Up Short

If Sunrise Mountain was feeling good fresh off their 27-14 takedown of Valley last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Miners came up short against the Canyon Springs Pioneers on Friday, falling 19-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Miners in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost three in a row.

Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Canyon Springs, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Looking ahead, Sunrise Mountain will challenge Boulder City at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Miners will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven contests. As for Canyon Springs, they will square off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulls have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season.
