League recap: Friendship Christian extends undefeated streak to seven games

A District 8's longest active winning streak belongs to Friendship Christian (37-2, 11-0), undefeated over its last seven games. In the past week, the Commanders won another three games, including a 5-0 victory over Jackson County and a 15-0 win over Clarkrange.

Friendship Christian currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 37-2 overall and 11-0 in the league. Trousdale County sits 5.5 games back in second, with a 6-6 record in league play.

The Commanders' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 128 hits and 42 walks to lead the league in both categories. On the season, Friendship Christian has allowed just 128 hits, while striking out 240 batters. Brennan Swindoll leads Friendship Christian with 83 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched.

The Commanders finished with the most hits in the league this week, adding 313 for a league-leading total of 337. Friendship Christian is led by Hunter Watts, who has 45 hits this year.



The Commanders' Drew Erie led the league with 40 hits this week. His 43 hits for the year are second in the league, and he boasts a .391 batting average.

Hunter Watts went 4-4 as Friendship Christian defeated Boyd-Buchanan 10-0 on Friday. He also drove in one runners.
