Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs entered their tilt with Albany on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 11-6. The Blue Streaks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Jackie Cutting made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Ava Goodman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily Ruscio was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Saratoga Springs' record is now 7-3. As for Albany, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saratoga Springs will face off against rival Columbia at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Albany is set to take on their familiar foe Guilderland at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
