Baseball Recap: Lyndhurst Beats Waldwick for Their Third Straight Win

Lyndhurst entered their tilt with Waldwick on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Warriors. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Shawn Bellenger was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Amaro, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Lyndhurst's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Waldwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Coming up, Lyndhurst will host Pompton Lakes at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Golden Bears 2.9, the Cardinals 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Waldwick, they will square off against Wallington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
