Basketball Game Recap: Winside Wildcats vs. Randolph Cardinals

If Randolph wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Winside, they should've done a better job of containing Bridget Marotz. The Winside Wildcats claimed a resounding 55-27 win over the Randolph Cardinals thanks in part to Marotz, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Winside is undefeated when Marotz posts 15 or more points, but 4-17 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Sam Gubbels, who posted two points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Winside's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-17. As for Randolph, they are on a 21-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-21.

As of now, neither Winside nor Randolph have any future games scheduled.
