Volleyball Game Preview: Founders Classical Academy Centurions vs. GV Christian Guardians

Founders Classical Academy hasn't had much luck against GV Christian recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Founders Classical Academy will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Lake Mead Christian Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Centurions narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centurions.

Founders Classical Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (62-57), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 30-28, 12-25, 15-9.

Founders Classical Academy found their leader in freshman Dakota Perkins, who had 14 digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, GV Christian earned a 2-0 victory over Needles on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant GV Christian was: they took both sets by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-9.

GV Christian's victory bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Founders Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Founders Classical Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to GV Christian in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Centurions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
