Horseshoe Bend and Ranburne are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Generals are taking a road trip to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horseshoe Bend is looking for their season's first win.

Horseshoe Bend is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 32 points on September 12th, they were much more limited against White Plains on Friday. They took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 40-7. The game marked the Generals' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 34-7, which was the final score in Ranburne's tilt against Randolph County on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Ranburne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Whitman picked up 62 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 31 yards.

Ranburne's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Horseshoe Bend, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Horseshoe Bend strolled past Ranburne in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 42-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
