Recap: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Barron Collier Cougars
The Riverview Sarasota Rams can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 60-38 margin over Barron Collier. Given Riverview Sarasota's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Barron Collier is ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ava Sims was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Susan Lowther, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Barron Collier still got an impressive performance from PEYTON HEFFLEFINGER, who scored 29 points. That was a full 76.3% of Barron Collier's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Riverview Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Barron Collier, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota will take on Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barron Collier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Verot at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
