Softball Recap: Reedley Comes Up Short

Reedley lost against Mission Oak back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Reedley fell 7-4 to Mission Oak.

Arianna Zarate was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Fonseca, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Reedley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Reedley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Mission Oak, the win got them back to even at 7-7-1.

Looking ahead, Reedley will square off against Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reedley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hanford West has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Mission Oak, they will take on Madera at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madera's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Mission Oak's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
