League recap: Sachem North scores huge upset over Connetquot

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Sachem North, who took down 56th ranked Connetquot, 49-28.

Matthias Eato of Bay Shore ran for the longest rushing play in Section 11 Division I this season against Patchogue-Medford last week. Eato scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 226 on the day as his team beat the Raiders.

Bay Shore's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Sheets threw for 52 yards and Joel Nunez had 44 yards receiving. Mike Duquette helped Bay Shore's passing attack out by catching one ball for eight yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback A.j. Otranto of William Floyd is the league leader in passing yards this season with 929. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Jim Giattino's team's Eato has rushed for 1205 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is McKinley Skinner. The Bay Shore star has 24 catches for 534 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Colonials take on Commack. William Floyd is in second place, while the Cougars are in fifth place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Paul Longo's team takes on Commack. The Colonials have allowed 100 points this season, while Joe Reggio's team has given up 133. William Floyd allowed 7 points last week as it beat Lindenhurst.

Northport moved up to 126 from 224 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 11 Division I. The Tigers were able to make move up by beating Ward Melville 49-19.
