Basketball Game Preview: Truman Mustangs vs. KIPP NYC College Prep Bulldogs

Truman is on a six-game streak of home wins, while KIPP NYC College Prep is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Truman Mustangs will host the KIPP NYC College Prep Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Truman made easy work of Columbus and carried off a 58-34 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, KIPP NYC College Prep was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past American Studies 54-19. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while American Studies are ranked 63rd).

KIPP NYC College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Truman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
