Softball Recap: Covenant Christian Gets the Win

Covenant Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the O'Connell Buccaneers 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in March.

Covenant Christian's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Marek, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Hayleigh Brandt, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Covenant Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as O'Connell only posted a batting average of .250.

Covenant Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for O'Connell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Covenant Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for O'Connell, they will face off against Alpha Omega Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
