Basketball Recap: Dobyns-Bennett Takes a Loss

Dobyns-Bennett lost against David Crockett back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dobyns-Bennett Indians lost 48-25 to the David Crockett Pioneers. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

David Crockett's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaliyah Story, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Story has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Doner, who earned 12 points.

Dobyns-Bennett has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for David Crockett, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Coming up, Dobyns-Bennett will welcome South Greene at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for David Crockett, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tennessee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Tennessee has won three straight at home, while David Crockett won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
