Basketball Game Preview: Howard Hawks vs. Cross Keys Phoenix

The Howard Hawks are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will take on the Cross Keys Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cross Keys took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Howard, who comes in off a win.

Howard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 35-25 win over Cottage back in November.

Amalia Fox was her usual excellent self, putting up 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Howard's points. Lily Tritt was another key player, posting six points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-17, which was the final score in Cross Keys' tilt against Notre Dame Academy on Thursday. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Irish Wolfhounds recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Cross Keys' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Howard, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Howard might still be hurting after the 41-21 defeat they got from Cross Keys when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cross Keys' Maite Duran, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals.
