It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carmel had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Acalanes Dons 42-41. The Padres' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

When it comes to explaining why Acalanes lost, don't look at Niko White. Despite the final result, he picked up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards White has posted since back in September.

Carmel's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.2 points per game. As for Acalanes, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Carmel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-7 victory against El Capitan on the 13th. Acalanes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
