Basketball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Academy for Academic Excellence got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They managed a 58-54 win over the University Prep Jaguars on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why University Prep lost, don't look at JOSHUA OKEKE. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. Another player making a difference was DONALD McFARLIN, who put up eight points.

Academy for Academic Excellence's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for University Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Academy for Academic Excellence and Norton Science & Language Academy will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for University Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hesperia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
