Basketball Game Preview: Gibraltar Vikings vs. Hilbert Wolves

The Gibraltar Vikings will face off against the Hilbert Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibraltar is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-43, which was the final score in Gibraltar's tilt against Algoma on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while the Wolves are ranked 194th).

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Hilbert, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past St. Lawrence Seminary with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-36. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hilbert picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Gibraltar, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Gibraltar didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hilbert in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gibraltar since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
