Preview: Perry Central Commodores vs. Springs Valley Blackhawks
Perry Central has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Springs Valley Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Perry Central is ranked 292nd, while Springs Valley is ranked 299th).
Last Friday, Perry Central ended up a good deal behind Wood Memorial and lost 57-40.
Meanwhile, after only 18 points in their last match, Springs Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Lanesville on Saturday. Everything went Springs Valley's way against Lanesville as Springs Valley made off with a 76-51 win. With that victory, Springs Valley brought their scoring average up to 54.6 points per game.
It was another big night for Deion Edwards, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Springs Valley's points. Another player making a difference was James Walls, who scored 18 points.
Perry Central's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Springs Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Perry Central and Springs Valley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but Perry Central came up empty-handed after a 61-60 loss. Can Perry Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
