Softball Game Preview: Palestine Wildcats vs. Rusk Eagles

Palestine hasn't had much luck against Rusk recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Palestine will head out on the road to face off against Rusk at 6:45 p.m. Palestine has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Friday, Palestine came up short against Madisonville and fell 12-9.

Meanwhile, Rusk had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Roughriders.

Rusk pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Palestine, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1.

Palestine might still be hurting after the 16-7 defeat they got from Rusk when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Palestine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
