Volleyball Recap: South Holt Has No Trouble Against Union Star

South Holt barely beat Union Star the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won seven in a row.

South Holt not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Union Star between 13 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-14.

Claire Ezzell paced South Holt's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ezzell got some help from Chloe Debee and her 21 assists. Ezzell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jacelyn Fansher, racking up six apiece.

South Holt's victory bumped their record up to 3-6-1. As for Union Star, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

The future could be bright for both South Holt and Union Star: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Knights will try to hand East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Union Star will look to extend South Harrison's six-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
