Volleyball Recap: Daniel Extends Winning Streak to Four

Daniel waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Easley Green Wave. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on Saturday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Daniel who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 27-29, 15-9.

Zara Russell paced Daniel's offense, picking up 13 kills. Russell got some help from Lydia Chasteen and her 34 assists. Sarah Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Despite the loss, Easley still got an impressive performance from Abi Summer, who had 19 digs. Joslyn Davenport also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Daniel's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Easley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coming up, Daniel will face off against Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Easley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Socastee on the 23rd.
