Tigers have made seven state championship appearances since 2006.

Since 2006, Katy has won four state titles in seven championship game appearances, gone unbeaten three times and finished in the Top 10 of the final state rankings eight times.

Our data suggests that Katy's level of success of consistency during that span is unmatched by any team in the state of Texas.

We've developed a points system to determine which teams stand out among them all and Katy is the big winner with 282 points.

Here is how the points break down:

1. 20 for a state title

2. 10 for state championship game appearance

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final state rankings (MaxPreps Computer rankings presented by the Army National Guard). For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
