Baseball Recap: Kaiser Drops Season-High Score on Eisenhower

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kaiser). They never let the Eisenhower Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cats with their most commanding win of the season.

Roman Hernandez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kaiser is 6-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Jaidyn Brooks was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chapo Arteaga, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Kaiser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kaiser's record is now 8-5. As for Eisenhower, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Kaiser will challenge Bloomington at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Cats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Eisenhower, they will face off against Colton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
