Basketball Recap: Ellis' Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ellis). They came out on top against the Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks by a score of 53-45 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Railroaders also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2020.

Leading Ellis to victory were Natalee North and Addison Kohl. North almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine boards, while Kohl went 7 of 13 on her way to 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, North is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game.

Ellis' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Wheatland-Grinnell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellis will take on Phillipsburg in a holiday battle at on Tuesday. Wheatland-Grinnell and Golden Plains will compete for holiday cheer on Friday.
