Softball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Cougars vs. Columbia Academy Bulldogs
Goodpasture Christian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-13 in the process. They came up short against the Columbia Academy Bulldogs, falling 11-2. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Columbia Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). In other batting news, Lila Pulley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Carolina Johnson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
