Last Friday, Steel Valley made easy work of Washington and carried off a 49-28 victory. Given the Ironmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Prexies are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Donald Barksdale was his usual excellent self, rushing for 224 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Da'Ron Barksdale was in the mix as well, providing Steel Valley with three touchdowns.

Steel Valley's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.2 points per game. As for Western Beaver, their record is now 8-2.

Steel Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Western Beaver in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, sneaking past 21-18. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Western Beaver's Dorian McGhee, who picked up 208 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Steel Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
