Basketball Recap: Clarksdale Takes a Loss

Clarksdale was the 54-48 winner over Pontotoc when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Clarksdale Wildcats fell just short of the Pontotoc Warriors by a score of 67-65 on Tuesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Clarksdale lost, don't look at Kamarrius Rash. Despite the final result, he went 19 of 26 en route to 42 points and five rebounds. Rash's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Jurden, who posted seven points.

Clarksdale now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Pontotoc, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarksdale will welcome Corinth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarksdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Pontotoc, they will host Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pontotoc is facing Lafayette at the right time seeing as Lafayette is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
