Soccer Recap: Wapakoneta Takes a Loss

After flying high against Defiance on Thursday, Wapakoneta came back down to earth. The Redskins fell just short of the Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Wapakoneta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Maumee Valley Country Day are ranked 61st).

Wapakoneta has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season. As for Maumee Valley Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Wapakoneta wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-1 win against Ottawa-Glandorf on the 9th. As for Maumee Valley Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-4 draw against Wauseon on the 11th.
