Basketball Recap: West Lafayette Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

West Lafayette won the last time they faced Tri-County and things went their way on Saturday too. The West Lafayette Red Devils strolled past the Tri-County Cavaliers with points to spare, taking the game 75-59. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-County lost, don't look at Noah Pratt. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-8 to rack up 22 points. Those 22 points gave Pratt a new career-high. Trey Foster was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 12 points.

West Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Tri-County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, West Lafayette will take on Western at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Western is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Tri-County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m.
