It was a good run, but Gibsonburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakota Raiders. The Golden Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Gibsonburg had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Mackenzie Muntz paced Gibsonburg's offense, picking up 12 kills. Muntz got some help from Brooklyn Smith and her 21 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Gibsonburg's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Lakota, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Gibsonburg has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against New Riegel on the 7th. As for Lakota, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Danbury on the 7th.
