Trinity Christian is 2-7 against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Gryphons will host the Wolves  at 4:30  p.m. The two teams are strolling into their  matches after big wins in their previous games.
Trinity Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They blew past Immanuel Christian 13-2 on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Gryphons with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Isaac Norman made a big impact no matter where he played. He  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Trinity Christian is undefeated when  Norman allows one or  fewer  hits, but 2-3 otherwise. Norman was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 1-for-4.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brody Frank, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot for a while, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last nine times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Ethan Tiede, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Trinity Christian was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .483. The last time their  batting average was this high was  back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  game, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Mount Vernon  on Wednesday. The Wolves put the hurt on the Majors with a sharp  13-2 win. Considering the Wolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Elijah Thompson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on two hits and racked up six Ks.
 At the plate,  Liam Kennedy was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a  triple, which was his first of the season.  Alejandro Sanchez was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Saint John Paul the Great Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Trinity Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Trinity Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 5.6  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Saint John Paul the Great Catholic struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 4.1  stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Trinity Christian might still be hurting after the  11-1 defeat they got from Saint John Paul the Great Catholic  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023.
