Baseball Recap: Carlisle Comes Up Short

Carlisle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Red Lion Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thundering Herd of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Carlisle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Ream, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Lucas Ream, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Red Lion, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will take on Palmyra at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Palmyra will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Carlisle surely won't give up without a fight. As for Red Lion, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Red Lion Lions take on Dallastown Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
