Soccer Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day vs. Escondido Charter

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys are taking a road trip to face off against the Escondido Charter Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, La Jolla Country Day didn't have quite enough to beat Orange Glen and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Torreys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 577th, while the Patriots are ranked 124th).

La Jolla Country Day's goal came courtesy of Michael Schwartrz, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Escondido Charter). They had just enough and edged Maranatha Christian out 5-4 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Escondido Charter's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4-2. As for La Jolla Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-2.
