Soccer Game Preview: Southridge vs. Central

The Southridge Spartans will square off against the Central Rockets at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Southridge took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Coral Reef, sneaking past 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They beat Edison by a goal, winning 2-1.

Southridge's win bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for Central, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-2.

Southridge took their win against Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Southridge repeat their success, or does Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
