Volleyball Preview: Torres Toros vs. Sunnyside Wildcats
After six games on the road, Torres is heading back home. After both having extra time off, they and the Sunnyside Wildcats will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Torres didn't have quite enough to beat Roosevelt and fell 3-2.
Torres took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Sunnyside posted their biggest victory since August 22nd on Thursday. Everything went their way against Madera South as Sunnyside made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.
Sunnyside never let Madera South on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-23.
Torres has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Sunnyside, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-14.
